Keds first teamed up with Major League Baseball last season, to launch a team-themed line of kicks. The company has stepped up to the plate again this year, expanding the collection to feature a new set of styles.
Among the new offerings are the “Double Decker” slip-on sneaker, featuring a jersey upper, soft breathable lining, and cushioned insole. The shoes are designed in gray and stamped with team names and logos. The “Double Decker” style is available for the following teams: Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers, and San Francisco Giants.

New York Mets pitcher, Matt Harvey, sat down with GQ magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Jim Nelson, for an episode of AOL On Original series, “Win/Win.” GQ often celebrates athletes and their sense of style, and Harvey is among the many sports pros who have expressed an interest in the fashion arena.

MLB Network’s All-Star Game Red Carpet allowed the league’s best players to step into the sartorial spotlight, while offering fans a glimpse into their personal style. Baseball’s top stars had an opportunity to shine stylistically, as the event highlighted their off-field fashion game. The New York Yankees shortstop has been a longtime ambassador for the brand, and has collaborated with Movado on past collections. Among the Jeter-inspired timepieces was the “Bold” watch, created to commemorate his 3,000th hit.

Washington Nationals pitcher, Gio Gonzalez, has joined a running list of male athletes who have dabbled in fashion design. Gonzalez first teamed up with Modell’s Sporting Goods last Fall, to create two t-shirt styles specifically for the D.C. area.
Now the Nats lefty has expanded his fashion efforts. According to WWD, he will begin selling a collection of men’s, women’s and children’s tees. Among the featured styles will be crew necks, crop tops, v-necks and tanks, designed with graphics representative of the sport. The line is meant to represent Gio’s “heritage and background encompassing baseball and old-fashioned street ball.” Items will be sold through the newly launched TheHouseOfLeagues.com and will retail from $24-$68..
