NBA players are notorious for their off-court style statements, and that interest in fashion has now been integrated into on-court apparel. One of the league’s most stylish teams, the Miami Heat, revealed “Black Tie” themed uniforms. The look merges men’s fashion and athletics, in an effort to make players look like they are dressed in formal wear. The gear was created to resemble a deconstructed tuxedo, with black and white hues and color blocking techniques. For details on how the “Black Tie” concept came to life, watch the footage here.
The Heat players also took part in a corresponding campaign, shot by TrickProductions and styled by Calyann Barnett, who works with Dwyane Wade. The images features athletes like Wade, Chris Bosh and Chris Andersen, each showcasing the new uniforms alongside formal wear. The teammates are dressed tuxedos from Perry Ellis, shoes from Del Toro Shoes, and accessories from The Tie Bar and Title of … Read More »

LeBron James was first tapped as an Audemars Piguet brand ambassador in 2011. The latest joint venture from the Miami Heat forward and the luxury watchmaker is a new, limited-edition timepiece. Called the “Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Lebron James,” the accessory boasts an 18-karat pink gold case, a grey patterned dial and a crocodile strap. LeBron’s signature is printed in blue on the sapphire crystal, titanium bezel. Only 600 of the watches were made, with a $51,500 price tag.
James, who is an avid watch collector, was heavily involved in the design process. When describing the concept behind his new timepiece, he told WWD:
“I tried to do something different with a cool factor, like what Beats by Dre did for headphones. The Royal Oak is my favorite style because it allows you to wear a suit, sweats or swim trunks, and … Read More »

To celebrate 25 years of basketball and ballet, the Miami HEAT and the Miami City Ballet have come together for a new campaign. The team’s top stars, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, were paired with Miami City Ballet Principal Dancers, sisters, and Miami natives Jeanette and Patricia Delgado, for a series of photos. The images will serve as a centerpiece of a local and national campaign to promote the arts scene on Miami’s Biscayne Boulevard, and to highlight the world-renowned Miami City Ballet.
“Ballet and basketball are both about grace under pressure and the pursuit of perfection,” said Miami City Ballet Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez. “No Miami City Ballet dancer stands alone just as HEAT players can’t win alone. It requires team work—and that’s Miami! We are talking about tremendous pride in the place we call home and being the best together.”
