Before suiting up in their team gear for Sunday’s matchup against the New York Jets, the Pittsburgh Steelers swapped their uniforms for designer duds. Last Friday, the team held its annual Steelers Style Fashion Show at the East Club Lounge at Heinz Field. Proceeds from the show benefitted the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program and the Cancer Caring Center.
The theme of the evening was “Steelers Nation Black & Gold Style,” as team hues were incorporated into the featured fashions. Players and their families modeled apparel from American Eagle Outfitters, NIKE, Moda Pittsburgh, Michael Kors, Robert Graham, Nordstrom and Kiya Tomlin.

Paul Pierce was part of a blockbuster trade that moved him from the Boston Celtics to the Brooklyn Nets. His transition to New York this season comes after 15 years of playing in Boston. Pierce will need to adjust to a new team and a new home, and he’ll have to keep pace in a city that is at the center of fashion. To start, he’s the October cover star for DuJour magazine.

Football and fashion collide in the latest edition of Milwaukee Magazine. Green Bay Packers wide receiver, James Jones, serves as the magazine’s October 2013 cover model. Within the pages of the publication, the footballer hits the field to showcase a range of menswear styles.
With Mitchell Park’s Journey House Packers Field as the backdrop, the photo shoot, dubbed “The Lambeau Look,” has Jones donning casual men’s fashions from designers including Joe’s Jeans, Perry Ellis and Calvin Klein. Steve Nash is enlisting the help of fans, to choose his opening night fashion. The L.A. Lakers point guard is deciding between three distinct suit styles. Each look comes from Vancouver-based, custom menswear company, Indochino. Nash joined forces with the fashion retailer in 2011. Current and former NFL stars have made moves in the fashion world, dabbling in apparel and accessory design. Across the league, players make a conscious effort to maintain their style A-game. After years spent kicking in the NFL, Owen Pochman and Glenn Pakulak hung up their jerseys and made the transition to jewelry design.

Dwyane Wade recently hosted his second annual “A Night On The Runwade” fashion show, a charity event to benefit Wade’s World Foundation. The show was presented by Neiman Marcus Coral Gables and watchmaker Hublot, for which Wade is a brand ambassador. Hosted by fashion correspondent, Jill Martin, and news anchor, Louis Aguirre, the runway show highlighted the latest Fall collections from Neiman Marcus. Included among the athletes in attendance were Wade’s teammates Mario Chalmers and Michael Beasley, and former Heat player, Alonzo Mourning.

Shot during the off-season, Campbell and Bergeron were photographed wearing their own John Varvatos outfits. Today Ashworth Golf revealed the fairway fashions for the U.S. golfers. The company serves as the official supplier for the U.S. Team at The Presidents Cup, to be held October 1-6 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
The competitive clothing range includes seven special-edition styles that were inspired by Team Captain, Fred Couples. In addition to his duties as captain, Couples also played the role of designer. He was involved in the process of choosing colors, fabrics and styles for The Presidents Cup collection. He also worked to incorporate his favorite design elements from apparel worn throughout his career, into the team’s wardrobe.

Fresh off his 13th Grand Slam win, Rafael Nadal transitioned from the tennis scene to the fashion scene. He swapped out his Nike threads in favor of a tuxedo and a slicked back hairdo. Together with model Clara Alonso, he covers the latest issue of Vanity Fair Spain, which celebrates the publications’s 5th Anniversary. Nadal had also appeared in the magazine’s debut issue, in 2008.
