MATT HARVEY AND GQ’S JIM NELSON TALK STYLE AND SPORTS FOR AOL’S WIN/WIN

New York Mets pitcher, Matt Harvey, sat down with GQ magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Jim Nelson, for an episode of AOL On Original series, “Win/Win.” GQ often celebrates athletes and their sense of style, and Harvey is among the many sports pros who have expressed an interest in the fashion arena.

With his visit to the men’s magazine, he got a chance to see how things are put together in the fashion world, with a tour of the office, an opportunity to meet with members of the team, and a chance to try on apparel from the fashion closet. Harvey also sat down with Nelson to discuss competitiveness in sports and style and his season-ending surgery. NICK YOUNG TALKS ABOUT HIS “SWAGGY P” PERSONA WITH DUJOUR MAGAZINE

Nick Young’s off-court clothing choices are as colorful as his personality. The L.A. Laker has been recognized for his sartorial sense, joining the ranks of NBA players who make front row appearances at runway shows and secure spots in fashion magazines. Most recently he was tapped to appear in Forever 21’s holiday campaign, together with his girlfriend and rapper, Iggy Azalea.

FOREVER 21 LAUNCHES NHL APPAREL LINE FOR CANADIAN TEAMS

Forever 21 has previously launched NBA and World Cup themed apparel collections, and now the retailer has extended its sports reach to include hockey. The latest team styles celebrate the NHL’s seven Canadian teams including: Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, and Winnipeg Jets.

The line consists of dresses, hoodies, tanks, v-neck tees, muscle tees, and raglan tee styles. The officially licensed fashions feature team hues and logo graphics. Prices are affordable, ranging from $16.90 for a graphic tank to $27.90 for a hoodie.

KEVIN DURANT PARTNERS WITH NEFF TO LAUNCH AN UNDERWEAR COLLECTION

Russell Westbrook has some new competition in the underwear design game. The Oklahoma City Thunder guard has designed and modeled skivvy styles for the Kings & Jaxs brand. In similar fashion, his teammate, Kevin Durant, has joined forces with Neff to develop an underwear collection.

“Before becoming friends with Kevin, I was a huge fan of him on and off the court,” Shaun Neff said. ”I am very excited to partner with him to create a great product that is functional and stylish that kids will want to put on every morning when they wake up.”

The Neff brand is best known for its headwear fashions for the snowboarding, skating, surfing markets. The company has tapped Durant to help create an exclusive underwear collection, with styles to be worn on and off-the-court.

VILLA X STARTER BIG EAST “MIDNIGHT MADNESS” COLLECTION

Starter Jackets made a comeback last year, with the help of New York Giants legend and President of G-III Sports, Carl Banks. Special-edition drops of the satin sports fashions have been created, including MLB All-Star and White Christmas styles. Now lifestyle retailer, VILLA, has teamed up with G-III Sports and Starter, to launch the first set of limited-edition styles in the VILLA x Starter Series.

The first collection, Big East-inspired, honors legendary teams, players and moments in college sports history. NFL PLAYERS COMPETE FOR “MOST STYLISH” HONORS IN THE “GQ STYLE WARS”

NFL players are transitioning their competitive spirit from the gridiron to the fashion game. GQ magazine has launched “Style Wars,” pitting the league’s sartorial stars against one another. The 12 participating athletes are: Victor Cruz (New York Giants), Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers), Eric Decker (New York Jets), Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals), Arian Foster (Houston Texans), Earl Thomas (Seattle Seahawks), Demarco Murray (Dallas Cowboys), Donte Whitner (Cleveland Brwons), Eric Ebron (Detroit Lions), Randall Cobb (Green Bay Packers), Colin Kaepernick (San Francisco 49ers) and Michael Crabtree (San Francisco 49ers).

DEZ BRYANT LAUNCHES “THROW UP THE X” APPAREL BRAND

Dez Bryant is capitalizing on his signature “Throw Up the X” touchdown celebration. The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver launched his official lifestyle brand yesterday, with ThrowUpTheX.com. The new website featured the debut of his branded apparel line, offering both men’s and women’s styles. According to Forbes:

NBA STYLE AT THE EMMYS FROM CHRIS BOSH, BROOK LOPEZ & ROBIN LOPEZ

NBA athletes joined television stars last night at the Primetime Emmy Awards. Chris Bosh, Brook Lopez and Robin Lopez were among the style-conscious players in attendance, each outfitted in custom formalwear designs. They brought their sartorial A-game, clad in handsomely tailored tuxedos, created to fit and flatter their large frames.

Chris Bosh was sharply dressed in an ensemble from Waraire Boswell. A white tuxedo jacket was paired with black pants and a black bow tie. The complete look was styled by Kesha McLeod of Thomas Faison.

Brook and Robin Lopez posed together prior to the Emmy Awards red carpet. The brothers were outfitted in designs from Boushra Alchabaoun of Elevee Lifestyle. Brook wore a striking blue tux, while Robin chose a white jacket with contrasting black lapels and black pants.
