Miss Universe pageant contestants pay homage to their nations through their fashion choices. The national costume round features intricately designed outfits, with detailed elements meant to represent their home country. Miss Universe Canada contestant, Chanel Beckenlehner, celebrated hockey culture in Canada, at the 63rd Annual Miss Universe Preliminary Show.

The hockey-themed national costume tapped into all aspects of the game, from a skirt made of netting and custom knee-high skates, to hockey sticks, a scoreboard, and Stanley Cup trophy headwear. NBA players are notorious for their off-court style statements, and that interest in fashion has now been integrated into on-court apparel. One of the league’s most stylish teams, the Miami Heat, revealed “Black Tie” themed uniforms. The look merges men’s fashion and athletics, in an effort to make players look like they are dressed in formal wear. David Beckham’s role with H&M has evolved each season. He’s previously developed bodywear and swim wear for the retailer. The latest collaboration, dubbed “Modern Essentials selected by David Beckham,” will feature a curated selection of styles.
“My relationship with H&M continues to grow. Something I’m really excited about is my selection of items. Things I wear day-to-day, shirts, t-shirts, jeans, bomber jackets. It’s literally stuff I wear day in and day out,” Beckham said.
“Modern Essentials selected by David Beckham” will include his favorite H&M menswear pieces. Among the featured items will be a linen pilot jacket, a white chalk-washed denim jacket, a car coat, a linen blazer, a city-slicker polo shirt, and the perfect white poplin shirt. The line will be released to coincide with Beckham’s new Bodywear range. Both collections will launch worldwide in stores and online on March 5, 2015.

Vineyard Vines has partnered with Jason Dufner, to serve as the PGA Tour golfer’s official apparel provider. The company is known for its preppy aesthetic, offering an array of apparel and accessory designs for men and women. Dufner’s new fairway fashions will include the brand’s signature pink whale logo. Julian Edelman was quick to capitalize on the New England Patriots win over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC divisional round. In particular, the game’s most memorable play. The Patriots wide receiver and former college quarterback at Kent State, threw a touchdown pass to Danny Amendola, the first pass in his NFL career. As Edelman explained:
“We’ve had it in for 10 weeks, and the coaches finally got to call it,” Edelman said. “I had to loosen up the arm a little bit.”
Now he has translated “The Pass” into a fashion statement. Edelman’s web store already features a range of t-shirt styles, including “JE11” and “Burgertyme” themed designs. He has added “The Pass” tees to the collection. The gear is available on Edelman’s personal website and retails for $29.99.

The NHL has unveiled fresh new jersey designs from Reebok, for the 2015 All-Star Game. The black home jerseys and white away jerseys each feature pops of neon green trim. The bold color choice, dubbed “elite green,” is new to the NHL fashion game.
This was a fresher spin and a color that is unique,” lead NHL Reebok designer Dominic Fillion said. “No other team owns this color so that was unique and it complemented very well the black and white while bringing a great accent with high visibility. We wanted something energetic and bright enough that it would stand out and grab your attention.
“We wanted something that fans hadn’t seen on an NHL uniform before.”

Steph Curry joins the roster of NBA athletes who serve as the face of a fashion company. EXPRESS has signed the Golden State Warriors guard as a brand ambassador. Beginning in March 2015, Curry will appear in campaigns for the retailer.

Beginning in Fall 2015, the tennis champ will front the Tommy Hilfilger Underwear and Tommy Hilfiger Tailored Collection campaigns. This is not Nadal’s first foray into the modeling game.
