The golf “uniform” has certainly changed over the years. To keep up with the unique sartorial selections that players have been sporting on the course, adidas Golf is launching a new line of apparel called Fashion Performance, which merges technology with style.
According to Golf.com, the youthful, hip collection pulls inspiration from runway trends such as bold hues and color-blocked designs, while keeping adidas’ signature performance properties in tact. The clothing will feature “street influences” and include a retro-style adidas logo. Jason Day, 23-year old Aussie golfer and adidas athlete, will serve as the face of the Fashion Performance line. The collection will be available for men and women in early 2012.

Tommy Hilfiger is once again lending his design expertise to the sport of golf. Hilfiger has signed an agreement with Fletcher Leisure Group in Montreal, Canada, to develop a line of golf apparel for both men and women. The collection will be available in Spring 2012 in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
The all-American designer’s preppy aesthetic has always been a great fit for the sport. Hilfiger had originally launched men’s golf wear in 1994, followed by women’s golf wear six years later, but the golf collection has only been available in Europe since 2007.

Yankee fans and baseball fans around the world were eagerly awaiting each at-bat, as Derek Jeter came closer to his 3,000th hit. Also anticipiating the historic milestone? Merchandisers. Within minutes of the homerun that inducted Jeter into the 3,000 hit club, emails flooded in from companies like New Era and Steiner Sports, officially releasing their DJ3K gear. Immediately following the big moment, the screen at Yankee Stadium also showed merchandise at stadium shops flying off the shelves.
