John Daly is no stranger to outlandish on-course styling. Though today’s golf fashions continue to evolve with bold colorways, unconventional designs and garish accessories, Daly still managed to add some sartorial shock factor to the course at The Open Championship.
The Open has brought out a range of unique trousers across the board, but it was Daly who has stirred up the most fashion buzz. The golfer made a major fashion impression in the early rounds of the tournament, stepping out in patterned pants inspired by the Norwegian Flag and the British flag. Daly is outfitted by LoudMouth Golf, an apparel company known for their vibrant use of color and uniquely wild designs. Venus Williams is known for her controversial on-court fashion choices, always working to raise the style stakes of the game. While Olympic tennis returns to Wimbledon for the upcoming London Games, the all-white dress code has been scrapped. The new rule provides players like Williams an opportunity to add some patriotic flair to their Olympic fashions. In celebration of the London Games, the tennis player is releasing a limited-edition collection of gear inspired by her own 2012 Olympic fashions. The new styles will be part of her EleVen label.

Natalie Coughlin will make her third Olympic appearance at the upcoming London Games, where she’ll work to add to her total of 11-Olympic medals. Ahead of her efforts, the swimmer has launched a women’s activewear line with O’Neill, the world’s leading surf, snow and youth lifestyle brand. The limited-edition capsule collection, dubbed the “Natalie Coughlin Collection,” was designed exclusively by Coughlin and inspired by her life as an athlete.

Fans are used to seeing athletes in uniform but each year the ESPY Awards provide us with a glimpse into their personal fashion choices. The biggest names in sports trade in their dirt-stained jerseys, beat-up cleats and helmets in favor of bespoke suits, couture dresses, bold accessories and designer bling. Michael Vick is the latest sports star to dabble in clothing design. The Philadelphia Eagles QB is launching a sportswear line dubbed “V7.” Other NFL players have had success with their clothing ventures, most recently, Giants’ Victor Cruz and Bears’ Nate Collins. The two developed a line of men’s and women’s apparel under the Young Whales brand.
Vick’s focus will be more athletic-inspired, with a collection of men’s gear that will feature two styles of shorts, both loose-fitting and compression, as well as graphic tees and compression tops. Amir Khan is working to break that mold. The 25-year old British pro boxer is already an Olympic medalist and two-time world champion and in addition to those accomplishments, he has an impressive fashion game.
