Alabama running back, Derrick Henry, Stanford running back, Christian McCaffrey and Clemson quarterback, Deshaun Watson, were selected as the 2015 Heisman Trophy finalists, with Henry nabbing the coveted college football award.
Though he didn’t take home the trophy, Watson took home top honors in the suit game. His vibrant red ensemble was meant to pay home to Gainesville High School’s Red Elephants. Watson told The Post and Courier:
“I wanted to be a little different,” Watson said. “But Gainesville, our colors are red, and that’s where it all started, with my coaches back there and people back home. I wanted to give a little reminder where I came from and throw on the red.”

The New York Jets hosted their 12th annual Taste of the Jets event at 4 World Trade Center, in partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue to benefit ShopRite Partners in Caring, a year-round, community-based, hunger-fighting initiative. The event fused football, food and fashion, with current and former Jets on-hand to meet with fans and sample bites from some of NYC’s top chefs.
The evening kicked off with Taste’s Saks Fifth Avenue Fashion Show. Players swapped their green and white in favor of the latest men’s styles from the retailer, covering both formal wear and sportswear categories. The show featured fashions from Saks’ private menswear label, as well as a range of new and emerging brands.
