With the start of the 2013-2014 NBA season fast approaching, teams have been rolling out hardwood fashion updates. Each year brings a new crop of special-edition styles, with fresh colors, patterns and performance features. The New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat are among the squads who will sport revamped gametime threads throughout the season.
The New York Knicks have unveiled an orange, alternate uniform. The all-over orange design features “New York” and players’ numbers in blue with white trim. Blue and white piping lines the collar of the jerseys and the bottom of the shorts. To break up the orange-on-orange ensemble, the shorts also include a thick blue waistband. The WTA competitive season concludes this week with TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships in Istanbul. Before hitting the court, the game’s stylish stars dressed up for the draw ceremony in Istanbul. The event showcased the sartorial skills of tennis’ top females, proving that their personal style is as distinct as their playing style. Included among the “elite 8” were: Sara Errani, Agnieszka Radwanska, Petra Kvitova, Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Li Na, Jelena Jankovic and Angelique Kerber.

Chicago Blackhawks forward and Stanley Cup champ, Patrick Sharp, hosted the reopening of the Ermenegildo Zegna store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The menswear brand is no stranger to dressing sportsman. In addition to Sharp, New York Giants quarterback, Eli Manning, is among the athletes with a suiting style marked by the company’s clothing. With the Winter Olympic Games just months away, fashion brands have begun to roll out team designs. The latest unveiling comes from Lacoste, as the company will dress the French Olympic Team in Sochi. The French fashion house has replaced adidas, the team’s previous outfitter. Lacote’s new partnership with the French National Olympic Committee extends through 2016, to include the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The official Sochi gear is “inspired by the brand’s codes and sports values” and “embodies French chic and elegance.” Each athlete in the French Delegation will receive a ceremonial outfit, an official outfit and two village outfits. As WWD reports:
