Welcome to week two of Who’s Haute? Thursdays. For those of you who might have missed last week’s edition, here’s a quick recap. Each week, A Glam Slam will feature an athlete who is relevant both on and off the field, the ice or the court. A Glam Slam will highlight these athletes’ relationships to their sport and their lifestyle away from the game.

Candace Parker shined in her days at the University of Tennessee. In 2008, she was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft by the L.A. Sparks and was the first woman in the WNBA to win both Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player. Parker missed part of the 2009 season due to the birth of her first child (her husband is Boston Celtics forward, Shelden … Read More »

Welcome to the first of edition of Who’s Haute? Thursdays. Each week, A Glam Slam will feature an athlete who is relevant both on and off the field, the ice or the court. A Glam Slam will highlight these athletes’ relationships to their sport and their lifestyle away from the game.

The Cincinnati Bengals are off to one of the hottest starts in the NFL and that’s due in no small part to their starting linebacker, Dhani Jones. From his days at the University of Michigan to his stints with the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, Jones has been as productive and reliable as they come.

When Jones is not blitzing quarterbacks or tackling running backs, he’s the host of Travel Channel’s Dhani Tackles The Globe, a show that merges sports and culture around the world.

And when he’s not in front … Read More »

There is nothing worse than having to climb the stadium stairs in a pair of stilettos. Or leaving your Birkin bag below your seat only to find it covered in beer and
chewed up gum at the end of the game. Or to be the victim of a certain (and explicit) chant because you chose not to support the home team.

To avoid a major violation the next time you attend a sporting event, take a look at A Glam Slam’s Top 10 Fashion Faux Pas:

Wearing the jersey of a team from a different sport, or a team who is not playing in the game you are attending. Unless your wardrobe consists only of team jerseys (which would bring up a whole different set of problems), stick to the teams in the game.
Wearing your own name on the back of your jersey if you are older than the age … Read More »

Move over Becks because you’ve been replaced by a new soccer stud. Though David Beckham has been the face of Emporio Armani underwear for the past four seasons, the fashion house recently announced that 24 year-old Real Madrid player and captain of Portugal’s national soccer team, Cristiano Ronaldo, will be the new spokesmodel for Emporio Armani Men’s Underwear and Armani Jeans, beginning in Spring/Summer 2010. But don’t feel bad for Becks. He’s rumored to be starting
his own branded underwear line in 2010.

Cristiano’s got some big…um…cleats to fill. Which half-naked billboard would you rather see?

Posted on October 5th, by HeatherZeller in BLOG. Comments Off on ABOUT ME

People have
always found it strange that my two favorite things seem to have no connection at all. I can rattle off NBA stats one minute and
share my favorite new fashion trends the next. I split my time shopping
online designer sample sales while checking on the day’s scores. My
two dream jobs are a fashion designer and/or a sideline reporter.

As the only girl in between two boys, my Mom thrived
on turning me into her own little fashionista. And because of my Dad, I was
watching Yankee games before I could talk. When it
came time to choose a college, it’s no surprise that I ended up at a Big 10
school, the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

For the past five years, I’ve been working in an industry dominated by women, where
morning coffee talk does not typically involve a discussion of … Read More »
