VERA BRADLEY CREATES COLLEGIATE COLLECTION

Vera Bradley, the company well known for it’s handbags and luggage in bold, colorful prints, has now entered the collegiate market. The company is putting its spin on school styles, with eye-catching designs embellished with school colors and logos. There are currently 16 colleges offered within the range.

Five featured accessories are offered for each school, including crossbody bags, duffle bags, tote bags, backpacks, and wristlets. Prices range from $42 for a wristlet to $128 for a backpack. To shop the full line, visit here.

DWYANE WADE DONS A VERSACE JUMPSUIT FOR ESQUIRE MAGAZINE’S SEPTEMBER ISSUE

Within its September issue, Esquire magazine sought out the differences and similarities between fashion and style. Dwyane Wade is among those featured in the editorial, “10 Men Defining the Difference Between Fashion and Style.”

For his “fashion” look, Wade was dressed in a black jumpsuit, electric blue jacket and gold chain from Versace, paired with shoes from Del Toro Shoes. He explained:

“When I got into the league [in 2003], it was all about the baggier, the better. So when I would wear pants that actually fit, everybody would talk about how tight my pants were. An no one would understand why I wear colorful pants or shirts. It the basketball world, it wasn’t cool.”

 

When referencing “style,” the NBA baller was clad in a Burberry London cashmere tuxedo, with accessories from Hugo Boss and The Tie Bar.

LEVI’S LAUNCHES NFL APPAREL COLLECTION

Ahead of last football season, Levi’s teamed up with the San Francisco 49ers on a collaborative collection of fan apparel. The denim company has expanded the line this year to include six additional NFL squads. The new teams added to the lineup include: Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, New York Giants, and New York Jets.

The updated offerings continue to merge Levi’s classic silhouettes and styling with team colors and logos. The men’s and women’s range consists of twill trucker jackets, denim bomber jackets, plaid shirts, and graphic tees.

VICTORIA’S SECRET PINK LAUNCHES 2015 COLLEGE APPAREL LINE

Victoria’s Secret has unveiled the styles that make up its 2015 PINK Collegiate Collection. More than 75 schools are offered within the range. In addition to the tees, tanks, hoodies, half-zips, crews and leggings typically included, the updated line also boasts accessories such as makeup bags and train cases.

As with all previous collections, the designs feature school colors and logos, combined with the PINK logo. The gear is embellished details such as with sequin graphics and mesh fabrics, and taglines like “Everything Is Better On Game Day.”

SERENA WILLIAMS COVERS NEW YORK MAGAZINE’S FALL FASHION ISSUE

New York Magazine tapped Serena Williams to front the Fall fashion issue, highlighting her dominance on-court and within the fashion world. The timing of the cover coincides with the US Open, which is set to begin in a few weeks. There the tennis star will continue her quest for the calendar Grand Slam. While her game is currently top priority, Serena is well primed for a career in fashion once her playing days are complete.

She already has a successful clothing line – “Serena Williams Signature Statement Collection” – sold on HSN. She’s also made her sartorial mark on-court, debuting buzzworthy and at times controversial apparel choices, explaining to the magazine that she and Venus “brought fashion back to tennis.” According to New York Magazine:

Cristiano Ronaldo has launched his fourth CR7 Underwear collection, which features updated styles and silhouettes for the Fall/Winter season. The soccer star also fronts the latest campaign for the range. According to Ronaldo:

“The new campaign is all about body movement. The product features the lightest and most comfortable materials and has a great fit, no matter how your body moves, so we really wanted to bring this to life. The way the product looks is key, but how it fits is equally important.”

KELLY SLATER TALKS OUTERKNOWN CLOTHING BRAND WITH MR. PORTER

MrPorter.com, an online retail destination for men’s style, has released the latest issue of “The Journal,” dubbed “The Surf Issue.” Among the features is a piece on Kelly Slater and his recently launched lifestyle fashion brand, Outerknown.

The ATP World Champion debuted Outerknown in July, together with designer, John Moore. The collection includes coats, tees, flannel shirts, hoodies, sweaters, and trousers. As Slater revealed to MrPorter.com:

“I’m constantly in and out of places where I need somewhere in-between zero style and high fashion – I guess it’s very relaxed-casual.”

RUSSELL WILSON LANDS A SPOT ON VANITY FAIR’S 2015 INTERNATIONAL BEST-DRESSED LIST

Vanity Fair has released its 2015 International Best-Dressed List, serving up sartorial honors to a wide variety of men and women. In recent years, Tom Brady, David Beckham, Victor Cruz, and Henrik Lundqvist have been the sports stars most celebrated by the publication for their style selections. This year, Russell Wilson is the featured athlete among fashion’s top-trendsetters.

The Seattle Seahawks quarterback is partial to sleek suits off-the-field, often dressed in Calvin Klein creations. He’s also gotten love on the style front, appeared in top fashion magazines and frequenting red carpets. The magazine highlights Wilson’s “Notable Esemble of 2015” as the “black suit jacket with embellished collar and ripped jeans,” worn to the BET Awards.

The sixth installment of the NFL Women’s Apparel campaign will feature a fresh crop of famous faces, including actresses, bloggers, supermodels, and fashion designers, who are also devoted NFL fans. Among those in the latest lineup are Jamie Chung, Alyssa Milano, Dascha Polanco, Erin Heatherton, and Tika Sumpter. Madison Pettis will serve as the face of the NFL Tweens/Juniors campaign, which celebrates its third year.

In addition, Tavia and Gracie Hunt (Family of Kansas City Chiefs Chairman & CEO Clark Hunt), Suzanne Johnson and Sasha Ircha (Family of New York Jets Owner, Woody Johnson) and Tanya, Brittanie and Tiffanie Snyder (Family of Washington Redskins Owner, Daniel M. DOONEY & BOURKE EXPANDS COLLEGIATE COLLECTION OF HANDBAGS AND ACCESSORIES

Dooney & Bourke forayed into the world of sports with an MLB-themed collection of handbags and accessories. The company went on to introduce a Collegiate Collection last Fall, and the line has now expanded to include styles for 16 additional schools, for a total of 32 schools.
