Nike has unveiled the 2014 Hyper Elite Dominance uniforms, to be worn by seven top-tier NCAA teams in February. The hardwood fashions were created to “Honor the Past. Dominate the Future,” combining an old-school design aesthetic with performance innovations.
The gear pulls inspiration from the past, in the form of special logos, scripts and colors. Modern touches include the use of lightweight, breathable fabrics and aerographic mesh graphics. The Nike Hyper Elite basketball shorts are made of 100 percent recycled polyester while the jerseys are made of at least 96 percent recycled polyester, saving an average of 22 recycled plastic bottles per uniform.
The squads set to don the new uniforms include: Michigan State University, Ohio State University, Duke University, University of Kentucky, Syracuse University, University of Oregon and University of North Carolina.

Under Armour has come to be known for its flashy and unconventional college sporting styles. The company’s recent collaboration with the Northwestern men’s basketball team continues that trend. The Wildcats played the role of fashion designers, helping to create their own alternate uniforms. The “By The Player” inspired threads offer a unique spin on standard hardwood styles.
Team members were given a series of 25 questions, which served as the foundation for the uniform design. The gear was built from details including school traditions and team mantras, offering a deeper connection to the wearers. The resulting uniform boasts a purple and gray color scheme, and is decorated with the following icons:
FAMILY, BROTHERHOOD and TRUST: The three words the players and coaches identified as the terms that embody the NU basketball team. They are placed around the school logo on the uniform.

Though they’re not yet as style-savvy as NFL pros, looking good remained an important part of the game. The collegiate stars made efforts to rack up style points during their night in the sartorial spotlight. For most, their fashion statements came in the form of neckwear. As Army and Navy prepare for their 114th gridiron matchup, Nike has unveiled the 2013 uniforms. Each year, the rivalry game is marked by great tradition and a new set of on-field fashions. Both squads will once again debut special designs during this year’s showdown. They’ll be styled in gear that pays homage to their heritage, and is inspired by key historical figures within each respective military branch.

Dockers is the latest brand to join the collegiate apparel game. The company’s famous khakis have received a school spirited makeover, with the launch of the Game Day Khakis men’s collection. Designed with official team logos and colors, the collegiate-themed Dockers are currently available for ten schools including: Oregon State, LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia, Missouri, Washington State, Minnesota, Kentucky, Michigan, and Illinois.
The line of colorful trousers are available in slim tapered and classic fits. Small, embroidered school logos are featured on the back of the pants, while school slogans like “Gig ’em Aggies,” “Geaux Tigers,” and “Go Blue” are printed on the inner waistband. The Game Day styles retail for $68-$78.

With March Madness just around the corner, adidas has unveiled a new set of hardwood fashions for six collegiate teams. The squads will debut the gear during the 2013 NCAA basketball postseason. The new team threads are part of the adizero uniform system of dress. Last year adidas revealed its first set of adizero uniforms for the 2012 tournament, with three participating teams. The basketball fashions were bold, but this year’s uniforms take it up a notch, with an new, eye-catching design. In addition to updated performance benefits, the uniforms will feature a distinct on-court style.
Adidas recently unveiled short-sleeved jerseys for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors and now three college teams will follow suit.
