DWYANE WADE DONS A VERSACE JUMPSUIT FOR ESQUIRE MAGAZINE’S SEPTEMBER ISSUE
Within its September issue, Esquire magazine sought out the differences and similarities between fashion and style. Dwyane Wade is among those featured in the editorial, “10 Men Defining the Difference Between Fashion and Style.”
For his “fashion” look, Wade was dressed in a black jumpsuit, electric blue jacket and gold chain from Versace, paired with shoes from Del Toro Shoes. He explained:
“When I got into the league [in 2003], it was all about the baggier, the better. So when I would wear pants that actually fit, everybody would talk about how tight my pants were. An no one would understand why I wear colorful pants or shirts. It the basketball world, it wasn’t cool.”
When referencing “style,” the NBA baller was clad in a Burberry London cashmere tuxedo, with accessories from Hugo Boss and The Tie Bar.
STYLE vs FASHION: The Age Old Question: I was honored to be selected with other very Stylish and Fashionable Men by @esquire to find the answer. Today, with more people having access to the elusive world of fashion through social media and the Internet, the two seem to have intertwined. To me: STYLE is timeless, understandable, comfortable, effortless, defines a person and is everyday. Look: Tuxedo by Burberry, Shirt by London, Tie @TheTieBar FASHION is trendy, edgy, fun a way for designers to create moving art and to not just make a statement but Scream it. Look: Jumpsuit/Jacket/Chain @Versace, Shoes by @deltoroshoes Anyone can buy FASHION right off the Runway but STYLE comes from within. So whether you gravitate more towards FASHION or STYLE/ STYLE or FASHION it is still an expression of self.
Wade’s Versace outfit sparked a wide range of humorous memes, and he shared some of his top picks on Instagram:
