MIAMI HEAT LAUNCH “BLACK TIE” UNIFORMS INSPIRED BY FORMAL WEAR
NBA players are notorious for their off-court style statements, and that interest in fashion has now been integrated into on-court apparel. One of the league’s most stylish teams, the Miami Heat, revealed “Black Tie” themed uniforms. The look merges men’s fashion and athletics, in an effort to make players look like they are dressed in formal wear. The gear was created to resemble a deconstructed tuxedo, with black and white hues and color blocking techniques. For details on how the “Black Tie” concept came to life, watch the footage here.
The Heat players also took part in a corresponding campaign, shot by TrickProductions and styled by Calyann Barnett, who works with Dwyane Wade. The images features athletes like Wade, Chris Bosh and Chris Andersen, each showcasing the new uniforms alongside formal wear. The teammates are dressed tuxedos from Perry Ellis, shoes from Del Toro Shoes, and accessories from The Tie Bar and Title of Work.
