TOMMY HILFIGER TAPS RAFAEL NADAL AS AMBASSADOR FOR UNDERWEAR & TAILORED COLLECTIONS
Tommy Hilfiger has tapped Rafael Nadal to serves as a global brand ambassador for the fashion house. Beginning in Fall 2015, the tennis champ will front the Tommy Hilfilger Underwear and Tommy Hilfiger Tailored Collection campaigns. This is not Nadal’s first foray into the modeling game. He previously served as the face of Emporio Armani Underwear and Jeans.
“Rafael Nadal has been a longtime personal friend and supporter of our brand, and I’m continuously inspired by his dedication and passion for his sport,” said Tommy Hilfiger. This exclusive partnership brings one of the greatest athletes of this generation into our Tommy family. Rafael embodies an effortless sense of style that exemplifies and reflects our brand spirit – he’s confident, fun and cool.”
As WWD reports, Nadal will also offer input on the collection’s designs, in terms of fit and fabric, and he will sport the brand’s apparel off-court.
Hilfiger said he expects that Nadal will wear the Hilfiger clothing during his free time.“Whenever he wears a suit, he’ll wear our suit. All of our suits are now elevated. We have new fabrics and details and all sorts of innovation. The styles are for comfort and a man on the go,” he said.
Nadal’s new fashion campaign will be shot in Spain in early 2015. It is set to break globally next Fall through dedicated print, online, and out-of-home media placements worldwide.
