NICK YOUNG TALKS ABOUT HIS “SWAGGY P” PERSONA WITH DUJOUR MAGAZINE
Nick Young’s off-court clothing choices are as colorful as his personality. The L.A. Laker has been recognized for his sartorial sense, joining the ranks of NBA players who make front row appearances at runway shows and secure spots in fashion magazines. Most recently he was tapped to appear in Forever 21’s holiday campaign, together with his girlfriend and rapper, Iggy Azalea.
Young is now featured in DuJour magazine, in an article dubbed “Nick Young’s School of Swag.” Within the piece, Young talks to about his “loud” style of play on the court, his relationship with Azalea, his early life and rise to the NBA, and developing his “Swaggy P” persona. “Swaggy is Hollywood. Nick is chill—he’s all about business,” he explains. “He only comes out in rare moments, you know? Sometimes I just want to be called Nick.”
He attributes much of his fashion sensibility to his upbringing: “In L.A. it’s streetwear, but in the Valley it’s more laid back—skinny jeans and Vans. So I had a taste for the best of both worlds.”
The corresponding fashion editorial was styled by Kofi Richmond and photographed by Eric Ray. Young’s swag is on full display, from a bold red Versace coat to a luxe pullover from Dolce and Gabbana. Below is a preview and for additional images, visit here.
