CARMELO ANTHONY TALKS “ARM CANDY” IN HARPER’S BAZAAR
Carmelo Anthony is one of five men featured in a Harper’s Bazaar piece dubbed, “The Life: The Bling Thing.” The New York Knicks forward appears alongside musicians and actors including Sting, Bobby Cannavale, Pete Yorn and Alan Cumming, with a focus on men and jewelry.
When it comes to bling, in particular “arm candy,” Anthony is a watch aficionado and an avid collector of luxury timepieces. He’s an investor, partner and ambassador for Haute Time, often sharing his “watch of the day” picks. Carmelo explained his approach to accessorizing, revealing a less is more mentality. He told Harper’s Bazaar:
“It’s not so much about the flashiness but more about the quality and timelessness of the pieces you buy.” And he’s bought a few. “Currently I’m more of a watch guy—I would consider myself a connoisseur of fine timepieces.”
“Of course, you can have a few diamonds here and there,” Anthony counsels. “But the more minimal the better. It’s about the quality of the piece, how it’s made.”
