FIFA WORLD CUP TROPHY TRAVELS IN STYLE WITH LOUIS VUITTON
The 2014 FIFA World Cup Final is set for Sunday, July 13. Argentina and Germany will battle on the pitch for the coveted, 18-carat gold trophy. Adding an element of glamour to the tournament, the trophy will travel in style, in a custom carrying case designed by Louis Vuitton. This marks the French fashion house’s second collaboration with FIFA. The brand was first commissioned to create a trophy case for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
In similar fashion, this year’s sought after golden prize is housed in a custom-made Louis Vuitton trunk. The leather-bound case opens from the front and features the brand’s signature “LV” monogrammed design.
The company also announced that Brazilian supermodel, Gisele Bunchen, will escort the trophy to the final at Maracana Stadium. Bunchen follows in the footsteps of Naomi Campbell, who had unveiled the special order case in 2010.
