UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN STUDENT LAUNCHES “SKICKS” COLLEGIATE-THEMED SNEAKERS
The market for collegiate licensed merchandise continues to grow and University of Michigan student, Jordana Schrager, has added a unique new find to the fan fashion landscape. Schrager has designed a collection of officially licensed sneakers, offering a fun and fresh twist on traditional school styles. Passionate and loyal fans, both male and female, can now showcase their team pride through their footwear.
The line, dubbed SKICKS, boasts both high top and low top sneaker styles, meant to embody the ‘sole’ of every fan. The footwear was designed in school colors and each pair is decorated with the university’s logo and mascot. The college-branded shoes can be worn alone or as part of a gameday ensemble.
Schrager, who has always been interested in art and design, had been doodling college designs on an old pair of sneakers. After numerous students approached her for a custom pair, SKICKS was born.
“I’m so excited to officially bring SKICKS to the market,” said Schrager. “What started as a hobby when I was a senior in high school has quickly blossomed into a successful business.
SKICKS retail for $59.99-$69.99 and will available for purchase in mid-August, at skicks.com, and at select retailers, fan shops, and university book stores at the following schools: Auburn, Florida State, Indiana, Michigan State, Penn State, Syracuse, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, and Tennessee, with additional schools to come.
