OPI DEBUTS MLB-THEMED COLLECTION OF NAIL POLISHES
CoverGirl teamed up with the NFL for the 2013-14 season, serving as the league’s official beauty partner. The brand debuted nail polish sets inspired by all 32 NFL team logos and colors. Additionally, CoverGirl offered “fanicures” inside stadiums and at NFL Style Lounges. Major League Baseball has now followed suit, as the league has partnered with OPI to develop a line of polishes. This marks the first ever professional sports league licensing agreement for OPI.
“Major League Baseball understands the importance of female fans in the growth and success of our sport, and so we continuously seek new opportunities to diversify our portfolio of licensed offerings to target this extensive fan base,” said Howard Smith, Senior Vice President, Licensing, Major League Baseball.
In time for the start of baseball season, the company has launched limited-edition nail lacquers inspired by the game. The MLB “Fashion Plate” Collection by OPI includes seven shades. Each polish features a quirky name like “Girls Love Diamonds,” a silver hue, and “Short – STOP,” a rich red hue. The polishes retail for $9 and fans can shop the collection here.
