ADIDAS REVEALS “FLORIST CITY COLLECTION” FOR JOHN WALL & DAMIAN LILLARD
Floral prints continue to decorate special-edition basketball collections this season. Fans first saw the debut of Kevin Durant’s KD VI Aunt Pearl kicks, designed as a tribute to his late aunt. The shoes featured a pink flower motif, similar to the pattern on a robe that Aunt Pearl often wore. Now adidas has debuted the “Florist City Collection” for Washington Wizards’ point guard John Wall and Portland Trail Blazers’ point guard Damian Lillard.
The range consists of socks, hats, sweatshirts and the Crazy 1 basketball shoe. Items are embellished with floral designs, and colors to commemorate the annual spring celebrations in the cities of Portland and D.C. Adidas explained the inspiration behind the gear:
Damian’s Rose City edition Crazy 1 pays homage to Portland’s famous rose gardens and Rose Festival with a rose print on the upper and laces and green detailing mirrored after the flower’s stem. Wall’s Cherry Blossom edition Crazy 1 comes in time for fans to lace-up a pair for this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. The cherry blossom print on the outsole and laces is contrasted with a grey upper designed to replicate the stone used in the monuments throughout the Nation’s Capital.
Socks feature a sublimated floral print and iconic Portland and D.C. landmarks while the sweatshirts designed in partnership with Portland based Bridge & Burn feature Wall and Lillard specific detailing on the sleeve.
The Florist City edition Crazy 1 sneakers retail for $125. They will be available on March 19th, along with select collection items, at Compound Gallery and adidas.com. Check out the featured styles below:
