ATHLETES LINE ARMANI SHOW FRONT ROWS AT MILAN FASHION WEEK

Following a strong sports presence at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York, athletes have lined show front rows, as the latest trends are being showcased in Milan. During Milan Fashion Week, Armani in particular has been a draw for athletes.

The Italian designer has experience working within the sports world. The fashion house sponsors the EA7 Emporio Armani Olimpia Milano basketball team, and the squad made an appearance at the recent Emporio Armani F/W 2014 show. Armani also served as an official outfitter at the Winter Games, supplying the sports wear and formal wear worn by the Italian team’s Olympic athletes in Sochi.

Following his silver and bronze medal wins in Sochi, Olympic alpine ski racer, Christof Innerhofer, was on-hand to view the Emporio Armani collection. Innerhofer is a fan of the brand and has participated in a modeling campaign for Armani. As he explained to WWD:

“There are different athletes that win in sports, but Italy in fashion is always number one.”
