PRINCE AMUKAMARA & NICK FOLK FETE SUPER BOWL XLVIII HELMET DESIGNS AT BLOOMINGDALES
Bloomingdales, together with the NFL and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), tapped elite fashion talents to create “haute couture” helmets in celebration of Super Bowl XLVIII. The stylish gridiron gear is being auctioned off to support the NFL Foundation. Fans can view all 48 helmets and bid on designs here.
The decorative domes were officially unveiled in the windows of Bloomingdales on Wednesday, at the retailer’s 59th Street location. To fete the Super Bowl helmet collaboration, the football-themed festivities included a performance from cheerleaders, followed by a party at the Loews Regency Hotel.
New York Giants cornerback, Prince Amukamara, and New York Jets kicker, Nick Folk, were also on-hand for the event. Both teams fell short of a Super Bowl appearance this season, but the game will take place at their home stadium on February 2. Jets owner, Woody Johnson, was also in attendance. The footballers each displayed their team colors in the form of neckwear, and posed with the featured helmet designers.
