VICTOR CRUZ LAUNCHES YOUNG WHALES FALL COLLECTION IN HIS HOMETOWN
Victor Cruz’s success on the gridiron is matched by success in his off-field fashion endeavors. His fans and teammates have embraced his transition into clothing design, and his Young Whales brand. The apparel company was founded 2011, by Cruz and Chicago Bears DT, Nate Collins.
Cruz has described the Young Whales line as “street meets high-fashion.” The clothing range includes a variety of long-sleeve tees, short-sleeve tees, crewneck sweatshirts, hoodies, and caps. Many styles feature an interlocking “YW” logo or a cartoon whale holding a sack of money. The company name is a play on words, as a high roller in the casino industry is referred to as a “whale.”
The New York Giants WR recently launched the brand’s Fall 2013 collection at a pop-up shop at Civilized Nation, in his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey. Cruz’ teammate, Corey Webster, was also on-hand to support the apparel line. For a look inside the Young Whales pop-up shop, click below:
