NBA FASHION UPDATES: KNICKS’ ORANGE ALTERNATES, SPURS GO CAMO, HEAT CHAMPIONSHIP GEAR
With the start of the 2013-2014 NBA season fast approaching, teams have been rolling out hardwood fashion updates. Each year brings a new crop of special-edition styles, with fresh colors, patterns and performance features. The New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat are among the squads who will sport revamped gametime threads throughout the season.
The New York Knicks have unveiled an orange, alternate uniform. The all-over orange design features “New York” and players’ numbers in blue with white trim. Blue and white piping lines the collar of the jerseys and the bottom of the shorts. To break up the orange-on-orange ensemble, the shorts also include a thick blue waistband. The Knicks’ new threads are currently available here.

The San Antonio Spurs have also revealed special gear to be worn this season. The team will pay homage to the servicemen and women of the Armed Forces with a set of military-inspired uniforms. The camouflage jerseys and shorts will be worn on November 13th. According to the team:
The military uniforms are part of the adidas and NBA Pride Uniform Collection, inspired by each team’s core identity, history and/or region. The green, olive and sand-colored camouflage jerseys feature the iconic Spurs alternate logo prominently on the front with black and silver vertical stripes on the sides. The stripes continue on the shorts and are also branded with the Spurs alternate logo. The Spurs will wear the military uniforms twice during the 2013-14 season.
The camouflage designs can be purchased at the Spurs Fan Shop and on NBAStore.com beginning November 13th. Here’s a preview:
The Miami Heat will let their fashions do the talking during the team’s season opener. Together with adidas, the Heat unveiled the NBA Championship Ring Ceremony Collection, to be worn on October 29th. The specially designed on-court gear is meant to celebrate the team’s 2013 NBA title.
Among the featured pieces are a track jacket showcasing the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy, which players will don during the opening night pre-game ring ceremony in Miami. The line also includes a Swingman Jersey, Climalite Tee and three different hats. Fans can purchase the Miami Heat NBA Championship Ring Ceremony Collection at NBAStore.com.
