JOHN VARVATOS PROFILES BOSTON BRUINS GREGORY CAMPBELL & PATRICE BERGERON FOR “STYLE & SUBSTANCE”
To coincide with the start of the 2013-14 NHL season on October 1, Boston Bruins Gregory Campbell and Patrice Bergeron are among the stylish sportsmen to be featured on John Varvatos’ website, within the “Style & Substance” spotlight. The monthly section profiles men “whose creativity and dedication to their work follows in the spirit of John Varvatos’ own approach to his craft.” Boston-based athletes Rajon Rondo, Jacoby Ellsbury and Julian Edelman are featured gents also.
Shot during the off-season, Campbell and Bergeron were photographed wearing their own John Varvatos outfits. They share visual snapshots from their life paired with personal quotes about their craft and individual style. Both players were photographed in familiar surroundings, with Campbell captured in and around Boston, including the Bruins’ home arena, TD Garden, and Bergeron shot in his hometown of Quebec City.
The NHL’s top-dressers have often worked with the menswear designer, to assist with their style game. Varvatos, who is a longtime hockey fan himself, has collaborated with the league numerous times over the past few years. His sartorial duties have included outfitting the game’s stars for the NHL Awards.

Campbell on fashion: “I’d much rather invest in something of quality that lasts. To me, the finer things are finer because they last.”
Bergeron on his style: “My personal style signature is a classic white V-neck and a pair of jeans. Depending on the weather, I love a classic leather jacket.”
