Cam Newton has turned his off-field passion for fashion into a career outside the game. He is among the growing list of pro athletes who can now add “clothing designer” to his resume. The news of his collaboration with Charlotte-based retailer, Belk, was first announced last Fall. The two joined forces to develop a line of men’s clothing that ranges from suits to sportswear. The Carolina Panthers QB has now debuted his inaugural collection of menswear.

“Professional athletes continue to be fashion icons and shape international trends, and Belk is excited to bring this fashion-forward collection to our customers,” said Kathryn Bufano, president and merchandising officer for Belk. “Cam Newton is a modern, Southern man with a great sense of style. He is a perfect partner for Belk because he demonstrates strong integrity and a commitment to community.”

The exclusive collection, called MADE Cam Newton, provides “modern fashion for the modern, southern gentleman.” Shorts, polos, pants, sport coats and suits separates are among the featured pieces. Newton played an intricate role in the design process. According to the Charlotte Business Journal:

“For a person to be very fashionable as well as casual, that’s what I want this line to be about,” he says. “I think this clothing line gives the buyer an opportunity.”

Working with Belk has provided valuable insight into how a clothing line and brand are developed and how to differentiate MADE’s offerings, he said. The Panthers star says he took an active role in helping to choose fabrics, color combinations and color schemes.”

The collection is available at 133 Belk stores and at Below is a preview of Newton’s MADE offerings and for to view additional pieces, visit here.
