SHOP JOHNNY WEIR’S PERSONAL CLOSET OF DESIGNER DUDS
Johnny Weir never shies away from the sartorial spotlight. The World Champion figure skater is famous for his flamboyant fashions both on and off the ice and his wardrobe offers no shortage of fur, lace, sequins and sparkles. Weir’s costumes and clothing choices have caused controversy on more than one occasion but that hasn’t halted his experimental sense of style. Weir will soon have plenty of room to add to his fabulous clothing collection. He is emptying his closet in the name of charity with over 400 items up for sale.
The fashion maven has teamed up with luxury consignment site, Linda’s Stuff, to host a charity auction of his designer duds. Fans can take home a piece of his personal wardrobe and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth. The pieces up for sale range from apparel and accessories from Chanel, Balenciaga, Versace and Gucci to his black Riedell ice skates and costumes from the 2006-2007 Olympic season.
