PRE-WIMBLEDON PARTY FASHIONS FROM TENNIS’ TOP FEMALES
Tennis players have an affinity for eclectic on-court ensembles, using each tournament as a forum to showcase their personal style. Wimbledon is the one Grand Slam where strict limitations are set when it comes to clothing, as players are limited to the All England Club’s traditional dress code. Despite the tournament’s often lackluster white wardrobe, the game’s top female stars provided a colorful fashion showcase at the Pre-Wimbledon Party at Kensington Roof Gardens in London.
For the second year, in partnership with the British Fashion Council, British designers dressed the WTA’s stars for the event. The tennis and fashion pairings had Maria Sharapova outfitted in Antonio Berardi, Serena Williams in Burberry, Venus Williams in Amanda Wakeley, Ana Ivanovic in Matthew Williamson, Caroline Wozniacki in Stella McCartney, Li Na in Giles Deacon, Agnieszka Radwanska in Mulberry and Petra Kvitova in Alexander McQueen.
Check out the fashions worn by the game’s most stylish female stars:
Maria accessorized her Antonio Berardi ensemble with with Roger Vivier shoes, Amrapali jewelry, and an Alexander McQueen clutch. “I love being in London and the energy of this city,” she said. “That energy inspired me to explore Britain’s up-and-coming talent and to support designer Antonio Berardi, who was kind enough to make my dress.”
