MATT KEMP DISCUSSES HIS DRESSING GAME
Major League Baseball players are not as notorious for their off-field fashion sense as are athletes in other sports leagues. But when he’s not in uniform, Matt Kemp has proven to have a keen eye for style. The Dodgers outfielder has a personal stylist who updates his wardrobe by shopping for him monthly, and provides him with a “look book” of outfit options for easier dressing. He’s participated in fashion photo shoots for magazines like GQ and Flaunt. Most recently, online tie retailer, Cheap-neckties.com, named Kemp the “Best Dressed Man in MLB.” They cite his double breasted suits, skinny ties, oversized bow ties and checked patterns as unique elements of his style.
Kemp recently sat down with ESPN the Magazine to discuss his fashion game and gaining top sartorial status in the league:
“I think I do a pretty good job as a baseball player in the dress game. I don’t think there’s a lot of stylish baseball players around here so I’m trying to be one of them, one of the best in the game,” Kemp said.
Kemp is also said to have an enormous shoe collection and notes in the video that Lanvin and Christian Louboutin are among his favorite footwear designers. Click on the photo below for the video footage.
