NBA JOINS THE HIGH-HEEL SHOE GAME
The NFL has found success in targeting female fans with increased apparel and accessory offerings and a dedicated women’s campaign. Both the NHL and MLB have also increased their efforts to develop merchandise that appeals to women. Following suit, the NBA is the latest league to get in touch with its feminine side, having aligned with HerStar shoes to offer team-themed high heels.

Founded in October, HerStar describes the company mission, “to adorn sports fans in fashion forward and sexy sports attire.” The new line represents the first officially licensed sports high-heel collection, with two NBA styles offered for fans. Described as “a classic pump with an atitude,” the micro-suede lineup retails for $99. This platform pumps features a solid color base and logo in team hues. The second design is a limited-edition crystal pump that retail for $274. This style features hand selected Middle Eastern crystals, offset by a sky-high 6” heel and 3″ internal platform.
