NCAA BRACKET-INSPIRED TEES FROM THE ORIGINAL RETRO BRAND
From hardcore college hoops fans to casual viewers, the NCAA Tournament attracts a diverse crowd across the fandom spectrum. Filling out a bracket appeals to a wide range of people and since the tournament tips off today, many are finalizing their selections. Some determine picks after carefully studying each team, while others resort to less scientific methods such as flipping a coin or looking at mascots or uniforms. Whatever the bracket methodology, keeping up with the 68 teams through upsets and triumphs provides endless excitement for spectators.
A new campaign from CBS Sports and Turner Sports promotes the NCAA Tournament and how it extends beyond sports, into the realms of fashion and pop culture. The “Brackets Everywhere” spot begins with a clothing designer who finds inspiration in the iconic NCAA bracket pattern. The bracket-inspired creations soon spark a nationwide fashion craze. The spots will run across TBS, CBS, TNT and truTV, as well as CNN, HLN, Airport Network, CBS Outernet Partners and across Turner Digital, which includes SI.com and NCAA.com.
Only time will tell if we’ll see bracket-patterned couture dresses hitting the fashion runways. For now, The Original Retro Brand has designed March Madness bracket tees that celebrate the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The short sleeve t-shirts, as seen in the video above, feature the tagline “Show Me Yours, I’ll Show You Mine.” Available for men and women, they retail for $29.50 and you can pick one up here or here.
