ELI MANNING DEBUTS NEW CITIZEN WATCH LINE AT MACY’S HERALD SQUARE
Tuesday serves as the traditional off-day for NFL players and Eli Manning spent his free time introducing his newest timepiece from Citizen Watch Co. The New York Giants QB is among the athletes who serve as Citizen brand ambassadors. He first signed with the company back in 2007 and has since been a focus of its “Unstoppable” campaign. It’s a tagline that Giants fans would certainly like to associate with this NFL season. The team currently sits atop the NFC East and Manning believes they will finish strong.
He told WWD: “It’s still somewhat early, there are a lot of games left, but our goal is to get better every week. We have a lot of young players and they’re making strides. They understand more about offense, and they’ve really gotten better from our first game.”
Shifting his focus to his off-field endeavors, Manning appeared at Macy’s Herald Square yesterday to unveil his Limited Edition Citizen Eco-Drive Perpetual Chrono A-T watch. Only 1,000 of the timepieces were produced and fans lucky enough to snag one had the opportunity to meet the QB and have their watch personalized. But it was about more than just the fashion, as charity played a role as well. A $30,000 check was donated to the New York Chapter of the March of Dimes for which Manning is a celebrity chair.
And when it comes to the QB, the sponsorship has provides another added benefit since showing up late is not an option for Coach Coughlin. Manning said: “We have to be five minutes early to every meeting, so at least I know I’ll never be late.”
