CAMO COMPETITION: UNC & MICHIGAN STATE UNVEIL CARRIER CLASSIC UNIFORMS
Uniforms have been a hot topic this college football season and with basketball soon to begin, gametime fashions will continue to generate buzz. The first-ever Carrier Classic game will be played on November 11th, Veterans Day, between North Carolina and Michigan State. In addition the basketball, the event is a way to recognize and support the service of the members of the Armed Forces, the veterans and their families. And what’s a special game without some special new uniforms? Both teams will add a bit of military-themed flair to the hardwood with their Carrier Classic apparel.
Each team will wear camouflage-style uniforms for the game, which will be played on the flight deck of the United States Navy Aircraft Carrier USS Carl Vinson in San Diego. In keeping with school colors, the UNC gear features a light blue camo motif, while Michigan State’s threads have a more traditional camo look, with white, gray and green hues. UNC’s uniforms are versions of the team’s redesigned jerseys for this season, which were unveiled earlier this month. For both sides, “U.S.A.” will also replace players’ last names above the uniform number, on that backs of the jerseys.
