A GLAM SLAM TALKS BURTON FASHION WITH RIDERS GABI VITERI & DANNY DAVIS

Action sports athletes have a distinct fashion sense, one that they like to express both in and outside of their sport. For the Burton Snowboard team, their gear is truly a reflection of their personal style. Several rounds of development result in rider-driven designs. With input on the color, cut, fit and function of their competitive clothing, the final product is one they are proud to perform in.

Burton is known for gear that is both fashion-forward and functional and though many associate the brand with their outerwear and accessories, offerings extend well beyond the Winter weather wear. The company launched a new Spring/Summer collection this year, allowing athlete and consumer fans to sport the clothing across all seasons. The wide range of men’s, women’s and kid’s styles were functional, fashionable and versatile, bridging the gap between high-end fashion and board sports apparel. With the cold weather quickly approaching, the latest crop of Winter attire will offer new colorways, fresh prints and technological benefits.

A Glam Slam caught up with Burton snowboarders Gabi Viteri and Danny Davis, as the brand prepped for their Fashion’s Night Out festivities at the Flagship store in Soho, NYC. Both riders had a hand in designing the new 2012 Winter line. For a look at the offerings, visit here.

When A Glam Slam met up with Gabi, she was busy trying on some of the company’s newest street wear offerings. Gabi dished on her role in the Burton design process and shared some of her favorite pieces. Among her top picks: the Women’s Varsity Jacket and the brand’s line of women’s denim.

Danny Davis talked about wearing Burton fashions on and off the mountain, explained how the gear merges style and function and revealed what’s next as far competition is concerned.
