What’s a new college football season without new uniforms? Many schools will hit the field with familiar fashions while others have updated their look. This morning Nike unveiled the Pro Combat Uniforms for the 2010-2011 season. The uniquely designed uniforms will be worn by ten of the top college football programs for at least one game this year.

Dubbed the “Nike Pro Combat System of Dress,” the unis are engineered to provide superior protection and durability, while utilizing advanced fabrics and tooling that reduce weight. In addition to these performance benefits, this year Nike also worked closely with each university to bring relevant elements of the school’s heritage into the overall design. The collaborations resulted in uniforms that infuse the past and the future, hence the Nike tag: “Born of Tradition. Built for Speed.” To learn more about the inspiration behind each uniform, visit here.
