Last night, A Glam Slam attended the A.E.R. “Walk With Style” event hosted by NFL star, Kerry Rhodes and Sports Illustrated supermodel, Hilary Rhoda. The night also included a runway show from featured designer, Laila Azhar.

The A.E.R. (Advocate, Educate, Revolutionize) event successfully merged both fashion and sports in an effort to make an impact on our community. The night, which benefitted CancerCares, was meant to bring forth awareness and empower both survivors and those suffering with lung cancer. It was a great way to support a great cause. And having Kerry Rhodes as the host made it that much better.

Much to the dismay of many NY Jets fans, the team recently decided to part ways with the Safety. Kerry was traded to the Arizona Cardinals for a fourth-round pick in this year’s draft and a seventh-round pick next year.

Besides being a great defensive player, Rhodes has always been a Jets fan favorite. When sharing A Glam Slam’s new dilemma, that of being a Kerry Rhodes fan and a Jets fan, his response was simple: “It’s easy, now you just need to start rooting for the Cardinals.”

Off the field, Kerry has focused on making a positive impact on society, as evident in the RHODES Foundation which supports the educational and financial advancement of young people in underserved high schools, and in his participation in last night’s event. But he’s also got a great sense of style. And a A Glam Slam got the full scoop. Check out Kerry as he rocks the red carpet in a sleek gray suit and burgundy tie and hear what he had to say below:

4 Questions with Kerry Rhodes:

How/why did you become involved with the A.E.R “Walk With Style” event?

“They actually reached out to me on twitter and asked me to be a part of the event. I thought it sounded great so I shared it with my publicist. It is a great cause and I’m excited to be a part of it. I am honored to do anything I can to help those with this disease.”

And Kerry is a very active “tweeter.”  Be sure to follow him @KerryRhodes.

Are you as upset as we are [Jets fans] that the Jets traded you to the Cardinals?

“I think it’s a good move for me and I’m excited about it. The Cardinals were in need of a safety and I’m happy to fill that role. I think I’ll do well playing in their defensive system.”

The NY Giants partnered with Joseph Abboud as their official team designer. If you could choose any designer for the Cardinals, who would it be?

“I’m a fan of Joseph Abboud. I’d probably choose him too.”

We all know you’d look good in any uniform. But who do you think has the best uniform in the NFL?

“That’s a tough one. I’d have to say the Atlanta Falcons.”
