Serena Williams was honored as one of the “Glamour Magazine 2009 Women of the Year,” in a ceremony held at Carnegie Hall. Glamour recognized a variety of funny, brave, courageous and strong women, and Serena was among these 11 lovely ladies.

Tyra Banks presented the award to Serena, who also addressed the young women in the crowd explaining, “You can do whatever you want to do. The most important belief is self-belief.” [Glamour]

And the tennis champ looked gorgeous in a red hot, one-shoulder Grecian gown from designer, Pamela Rowland. Her new ‘do and head-to-toe jewels were the perfect compliment to what Glam Gal believes is one of her very best looks.

You can pick up a copy of Glamour’s Women of the Year issue on stands now.
